Resin Bound Paths
Garden paths, side access and approach routes in the same seamless permeable surface, often laid at the same time as a driveway to match.
Paths and driveways together
Most path work is done alongside a driveway installation, and there is a good practical reason to combine them: the resin and aggregate are mixed in batches on site, so extending the same pour to the path costs far less than returning to do it separately, and the colour match is exact. A path laid from a different batch months later will be close but rarely identical.
Where a path is the only work, it is a small job with a minimum charge attached, since the setup, mixing plant and labour are much the same whether the area is five square metres or fifty.
Access and level considerations
Paths often run alongside a house wall, and the level detail matters. The finished surface needs to stay clear of the damp proof course, which sometimes means the path sits lower than the ground beside it and needs its own drainage.
For accessible routes, the seamless finish has a genuine advantage over slabs or block paving: no lips at joints, no settled units and a consistent surface for a wheelchair or a walking frame. On the sloping sites common in Torquay and the older parts of Plymouth, the textured finish also holds grip better than smooth paving.

Is there a minimum size for a resin path?
There is usually a minimum charge rather than a minimum size. Mobilising to site, setting up the mixing plant and mixing measured batches costs much the same for a small area as a large one, so a standalone path of a few square metres carries a disproportionate price per square metre. Combining it with driveway work is considerably better value, and gives an exact colour match into the bargain.
Can a path match my driveway exactly?
If both are laid from the same batches on the same day, yes. If the path is added later, expect a close match rather than a perfect one. Natural aggregate varies slightly between quarry batches, and an existing surface will have weathered. Recording the exact blend and supplier at the time of the original installation makes a later match as good as it can be.
